Extend-A-Family and Safe and Secure Future Networks are hosting two family workshops this fall!
We are forwarding the attached promotional flyer for our two fall workshops!!
Please join us! (pre-registration is required)
Saturday, September 17, 9:00 – 3:30 at St Leonard’s church
Michael Kendrick presents “Get A Good Life”
Michael will guide us to examine what is important when planning activities for our young people, so that it will become a foundation for meaningful participation, valued contribution and creating opportunities for relationships.
He will encourage us to reflect upon the ways in which we use our resources (funding and supports), to find ways for our young people to broaden their experiences, deepen their social networks and to become valued contributors, versus just finding ways to fill their time.
This workshop would be valuable for families with children of all ages and in particular, may assist families whose sons and daughters are in their teen years to re-focus and prepare for a good life in the adult years.
Saturday, October 22, 9:00 – 3:30 at OWN Co-Op
Erin Sheldon presents, “Nurturing Relationship and Building Natural Supports”
Erin will assist us to think of the many practical ways we can broaden our children’s relationships and social circles.
She will remind us to consider who are the people present and what might be the day to day opportunities to encourage kids to come together to create relationship opportunities.
This would be highly beneficial for families seeking alternative/more natural ways to connect and create friendship opportunities.
See the attached for full details.
Please share with families who would benefit from this great learning opportunity!
